Starting July 1 Green Bikes will switch to a same day check out requiring all bikes to be returned the same day of rental. All bikes must be returned by midnight of the same day they were checked out.
The WSU Green Bike program is a bike share system in place to decrease traffic congestion, limit carbon emissions and encourage health and physical exercise. Bike Sharing is practiced all over the country in many different settings.
Currently, the WSU Green Bike program has 120 bikes in its fleet. 80 BIXI Green Bikes are available for 24 hours at a time and can be checked out at the CUB, SRC, Valley Road Playfields, and Grimes Playfields. Our 40 Trek Mt. Bikes are available to rent from the Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC) for up to seven days at a time.
Since the system launched, Green Bikes have been checked out 19,100 times and more than 6,400 unique users have used the bikes!
